This is a great teacher/parent activity.... you can be the kiwi by using the hand puppet whilst interacting with two children.. one playing the part of Ruru, the nocturnal morepork who plays some fun games with Kiwi in the middle of the night and when morning breaks the other child plays at being the Tui as she sings her beautiful song.

Author Erin Devlin’s passion for puppet creation and performance together with her love of New Zealand’s unique wildlife and environment are the inspirations behind her writings. Since publication of ‘Good Morning, Good Night’ in 2007 the book’s puppet characters Kiwi, Ruru and Tui have travelled many miles with Erin as she’s shared and enacted this delightful nocturnal story with many thousands of children in schools and early childhood environments throughout Aotearoa New Zealand..

Illustrator Annie Jeannes' stunning and realistic interpretation of Erin’s stories receive the highest of praise from both children and adults alike. Erin never ceases to be delighted with Annie’s beautiful illustrations.
